Its been a while, so here is the update. Finals are over. Yep, you read correctly. As stated two or three posts back, we wrapped up the school year being entertained by the Flight of the Conchords. They did all the favorites, mixed in a George Michael hit on a toy sax, and played some inspirational Keytar.
We dont have any good pictures or video of the event, but this should suffice...
On Tuesday Marcus flew in from the SLC, so we did the tourist thing for a week. Highlights included live music at the Kennedy Center, a primate using a paper bag to shield his eyes, the Holocaust Museum, the Air and Space Museum, the Natural History Museum, all the monuments (minus Jefferson), Ben's Chili Bowl, Paradiso, 5 Guys, Cactus Cantina, Eastern Market, Georgetown, the Cathedral, and the gift shop at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. We walked and walked and walked but it was needed to counterbalance the extreme breakfasts most mornings. Side note: the fried apples at Ben's Chili Bowl are awesome and perfectly top any breakfast menu item (except grits).
Lowlights included a tour of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. It is seriously dull and required waking up early to get tickets. Everyone owns a printer, though most are slightly smaller and less patriotic than this one.
We had a ton of fun on our mini vacation with Marcus - come back anytime.
looks like fun kids! Maybe next year you can take tone and i around. By then you guys will be pros at the whole toursit thing. We miss you guys-when are you coming home?
