Road Trip

After we shipped all our belongings off to Utah, we hopped in our car and decided to take our time trekking across the country. First stop, Carthage, IL.
We expected it to be really crowded with Mormon tourists, but we must have hit it just right, because we got our own private tour through the jail. It was perfect.

Next stop, Nauvoo, IL. The weather was perfect for walking along the Mississippi River and checking out all the historic sites. We even looked up where Geoff's relatives once owned property and went to see what the property looked like. One of the lots was right across the street from Brigham Young's home. I was actually quite surprised by Nauvoo. It was incredibly beautiful. It made me realize how terrible it would have been to be forced to leave. We loved it.
Next up, Liberty, MO. No pictures, but that doesn't mean we didn't enjoy it.

We then made a stop for lunch in Kansas City. Because Kansas City is so famous for BBQ food, we had to stop at Arthur Bryant's. It was awesome - absolutely delicious. And, of course, we purchased some of their rub and sauce to bring home.

Last stop, Denver. Nothing historic here, it was just a good stopping point, and we hit up one of their awesome restaurants, the Wazee Supper Club in lower Denver. Again - Delicious.




Finally, we were home.
